Flying Eagles Thrash Freiburg U23s 4 - 1
Published: May 19, 2015In their last tune - up game before departing Nuremberg for New Zealand, the Flying Eagles were in their element, thrashing the Under 23 team of Freiburg 4 - 1 on Tuesday afternoon.
Courtesy of Alhassan Ibrahim, the Manu Garba led side were one goal up at the end of the first stanza, with the new Westerlo signing scoring before the 36th minute mark.
In the second half, Godwin Saviour, Ifeanyi Mathew and Usman Sale grabbed a goal apiece as Nigeria U20s coasted to yet another victory on German soil, their third since they opened the training camp.
They beat Hoffenheim 5 - 2 in their first scrimmage before thumping Nurnberg U23s 5 - 0, with Taiwo Awoniyi notching a brace for the African champions.
The Nigeria delegation will fly out of Germany on Saturday, May 23.
