Obafemi Martins Doubtful To Face Sporting Kansas
Published: May 20, 2015
Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins is doubtful for this weekend’s clash against Sporting Kansas, having failed to recover from a tibial contusion.
The former Nigeria international missed Seattle’s 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday on account of the same ailment and did not take part in training on Tuesday for the third time since last week.
“[Martins] looks unlikely for this weekend,” manager Sigi Schmid told reporters after the practice session on Tuesday.
“He’s in the gym and working, but he can’t get on the field yet.”
In 8 outings in the MLS, Obafemi Martins has scored 6 goals for the CenturyLink Field outfit.
