Anglo - Nigerian forwards Aaron Amadi Holloway and Fred Onyedinma suffered heartbreak with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday after they failed to gain promotion to the English League One via the play-offs, losing 7 - 6 on penalties to Southend United.
With normal and extra time ending one goal apiece, the lottery of a penalty shootout had to decide which team will join Burton Albion, Shrewsbury Town and Bury in the third level of English football next season.
Amadi Holloway, a former Wales youth international, converted Wycombe Wanderers’s sixth penalty kick in sudden death after the tie failed to produce a winner with both teams putting away their five spot kicks.
