Liverpool striker Asisat Oshoala, 20, has scooped the inaugural BBC Women<span class="body1">&rsquo;</span>s Footballer of the Year. <br /><br />The Nigeria international was voted for by football fans allover the word and saw off competition from Ver&oacute;nica Boquete (Spain and FFC Frankfurt), Nadine Kessler (Germany and VFL Wolfsburg), Kim Little (Scotland and Seattle Reign FC) and Marta (Brazil and FC Rosengard). <br /><br />Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard was one of the first football personalities to congratulate the Super Falcons striker after she won the prestigious award.<br /><br />&nbsp;&ldquo;Congratulations to Liverpool Ladies&rsquo; Asisat Oshoala on being named BBC Women&rsquo;s Footballer of the Year 2015,&rdquo; Gerrard said.<br /><br />Asisat Oshoala put herself in the shop window at the 2014 Fifa Under 20s in Canada, winning the highest scorer and most valuable player of the competition.<br /><br />Photo Credit : liverpoolfc.com<br />
