Published: May 29, 2015
England have announced their squad numbers for the Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada.
Anglo - Nigerian striker Eniola Aluko, who is participating in her third World Cup, has been allocated the traditional number nine jersey by the English FA.
At the 2007 World Cup, Aluko donned the same number for The Lionesses while she wore the number 14 shirt during the tournament in Germany four years ago.
By all indications the number nine kit is her preferred number as she wears the same number for Chelsea Ladies.
The 28 - year - old Eniola Aluko is 10 caps shy of reaching 100 appearances for England’s national team.
