Emmanuel Emenike Is Most Expensive African Player Bought By Turkish Club

Respected Turkish sports daily Fanatik has published on its official website the top 25 most expensive transfers involving Super Lig clubs.
Emmanuel Emenike’s move from Spartak Moscow to Fenerbahce in 2013 was ranked in third position.
The Istanbul side, who are never shy to get out their cheque book, paid 13 million euros to re- sign him from Spartak Moscow two years after they sold him to the Russian Premier League side for a fee of €10 million.
The transfer of the Nigeria international to the Muscovites would never have happened if not for the match-fixing scandal that engulfed Turkish football in 2011.
The most expensive transfer in the history of Turkish football involved the prolific Brazilian striker Mário Jardel, who joined Galatasaray from FC Porto for €17.05 million in 2000.
