Published: June 04, 2015
Germany Under 20 National Team are through to the last 16 of the 2015 Fifa Under 20 World Cup.
A player of Nigerian descent skippered the German side in their 3 - 0 win against Uzbekistan on Thursday morning.
Hoffenheim central defender Kevin Akpoguma lasted the entire distance at the Christchurch Stadium, Christchurch unlike the first game against Fiji that saw him subbed out in the 59th minute.
Coincidentally, it was exactly the same minute he found the back of the net against Uzbekistan, striking the ball home after dispossessing Dostonbek Khamdamov.
Kevin Akpoguma was invited for the Nigeria U23s screening exercise last December but is expected to make a decision on his international future after this tournament.
