Published: June 06, 2015
Stefano Okaka is inching closer to a switch to the English Premier League according to reports in Italy.
Tuttomercatoweb.com says Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero is on his way to London to thrash out terms with Southampton, who have overtaken Manchester City in the race for the striker.
Okaka’s intermediary, Claudio Vigorelli, will accompany The Blucerchiati chief to England for talks with The Saints.
Sampdoria are hoping to cash in on the 25 - year - old sooner rather than later as he will leave for nothing when his contract with the club expires at the end of next season.
Okaka donned the colours of Fulham during the 2009 - 2010 campaign and will escape red- tape in the EPL as he is the possession of an Italian passport.
