Rabiu Ibrahim Plays Down Austin Okocha Comparison
Published: June 07, 2015
AS TrenÄín midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim has played down comparisons with retired Nigeria international Austin Okocha and insisted that his shoes are too big to fill.
There were grounds to believe that the former Kilmarnock man would follow in the footsteps of Okocha in the formative years of his career only for him to fall off the radar.
But the 24 - year - old is now back in the spotlight and assisted AS TrenÄín win the double last season which earned him a call - up to the Super Eagles after more than two years in the international wilderness.
“Okocha is a huge player in the world. I don’t think there wil be any Okocha, it’s one,”Rabiu Ibrahim told thenff.com.
“If you are not Okocha, you can never be Okocha, he is a legend. I believe we have many talented players who can play in the midfield.
“I believe if I am given an opportunity I will do my best and help the team and the country.”
