Kogi United Coach Yomi Elijah Bemoans Defeat To Adamawa United

Godwin Elijah has condemned the manner his team lost 0-2 to Adamawa
United in their Week Four duel on Saturday.<br /><br />The match played at
Atiku Abubakar Stadium in Fufore saw the Confluence state club trailing
after seven minutes when Useni Farouk bundled in a goal from a scramble. <br /><br />The
Wada Boys regained possession immediately and they almost made it count
in the 14th minutes when Sanni Idris’ shot went an inch wide from goal.<br /><br />Destiny Ashadi also missed a seater at an hour mark as Adamawa keeper, Pwadadi came out well to save his last touch.<br /><br />The
introduction of Zadee Blee and Alex Adamu improved the attack of the
haway side and when it looked like they would get the needed equalizer,
they conceded the second goal.<br /><br />Centre referee Mohammed Mohammed
overlooked a glaring offide and aloowed Shehu Abubakar to send keeper
Detan Ogundare wide and sealed the victory for home side and also Kogi
United’s first defeat of the season.<br /><br />Elijah who expressed worry on his boys’ finishing instinct noted that a draw would have capped their performance for the game.<br /><br />“It
wasn’t a good result for us, we deserve to pick something from this
match as my boys played better and created their own chances, we were
just unfortunate to lose.<br /><br />“It was a balanced game, Adamawa were
lucky to get their goals, the first goal was ok but the second to me
doesn’t look good as goal, this is not a time for blame games, we will
go back home and work to improve on our scoring abilities, ” Elijah
said.<br />
