Alfred Effiong scored his first international goal for Malta in an international friendly that took place on Monday against Lithuania.
The Nigerian - born player came off the bench in the second half and sealed victory for his adopted country with an 80th minute wonder goal after Paul Fenech had given the Island Nation a one - goal advantage shortly after the hour mark.
He started a dribble from his own half, beat three defenders before striking the ball from 25 yards.
