NFF Executive Board member, who said she never lost hope when they were
two goals down, against Sweden, but rued the many scoring chances the
team missed to that game.

“I give thanks to God for giving us
the result we got against Sweden because, nobody gave us a chance before
the match because Sweden is ranked among the toughest teams in this
World Cup.

“They have always participated in World Cup and have
always done well, and they look at us as lowly rated going to play a top
team like Sweden, but with the kind of efforts that our girls put into
that match, it was very evident that we have become a force to reckon
with. In our match against Australia , the girls should go all out to
get the maximum points at stake.

“They should avoid the mistakes that led them coming from behind in the match against Sweden.

“I
am very happy that our girls are not allowing our world rating to
affect them in any way, and that is the spirit I am imploring them to
maintain all through the tournament.

“I have absolute faith in
them at any point in time. I never lose hope in these girls because they
are committed and they know what they want and how to go for it at any
point in time” .
