Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Capt Idris Wada has promised to continue to support Kogi United, Confluence Queens and other sporting activities in the Confluence State.

Governor Wada has been giving maximum support to both clubs since he assumed office. He thanked all that graced the ceremony and promised to continue to make the welfare of both clubs paramount to him.
He applauded the dignitaries, administrators at the venue - and praised the feats achieved by the two teams in the Nigeria National League and Nigeria Women Premier League.
Well known personalities like Arch Yomi Awoniyi (Deputy Governor Kogi State), Prof Gbemiro Jegede (Secretary to Kogi State Government), Pherm Nasiru (Chief of Staff Kogi State), Dr M.E Atakpa (Head of Service), Honorable Commisioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistant, Special Assistant, Alhaji Umarr Issa (Kogi FA Chairman), Mr Austin Ogunmola (Kogi FA Secretary), Abdul Sule (Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens) and Adeboye David Samuel (Director Admin and Finance of Kogi United and Confluence Queens) attended the event. Players and officials of two clubs were also present to witness the ceremony.
The partnership is the first of its kind among Nigerian clubs, with the deal facilitated by chairman of the two clubs, Abdul Sule, who is also a Hummel Ambassador.
It is a great priviledge that a top European sport kit firm like Hummel is opening the Wada Boys and Wada Queens to new frontiers of opportunities.
Aside kitting the players and supporters the deal hold the potential of cross-continent football participation aside other benefits.
The launching of the Denmark manufactured kits is aimed at moving the two clubs forward both on and off the pitch.
The new home jersey is a mix of blue and black playing pants, while the away jersey is yellow and with black playing pants.
You will recall that Kogi United recently started a Feeder Team, which is under the supervision of Adamu Isah, Suleiman Adamu and Sabo Okala.
“The launch of the kits shows the ambition of the clubs and its financier. We are indeed indebted to his Excellency Idris Ichalla Wada for his love for football and sports in general,” ex-Super Eagles star Abdul Sule said in his speech.
“Last season, Kogi United scored the highest number of goals in the Nigeria National League. This didn’t go unnoticed as top Premier League clubs signed up our top strikers and an attacking midfielder in multi-million naira deals .
“This season season, we are consolidating on the successes recorded last season. We will do our best to make Kogi State proud,' Abdul Sule added.
“We thank the Kogi State Government for the launch of the club kits, it will spur us,”the players chorused.
