Two - Goal Hero Fanendo Adi Pleased To Win Individual Contest Against Seattle Sounders Star Chad Marshall
Two second half goals by Fanendo Adi helped Portland Timbers defeat Seattle Sounders 4 - 1 in the MLS on Monday morning at Providence Park. <br /><br />The former Dynamo Kiev and FC Copenhagen striker scored his first goal of the game in the 74th minute before increasing the tally two minutes later to give Timbers a two - goal cushion.<br /><br />On a personal level, Adi said he was pleased to win the individual contest against Seattle Sounders defender Chad Marshall.<br /><br />“For me, I knew I was playing against one of the best defenders in the league. I respect [Chad] Marshall a lot,” Adi told timbers.com.<br /><br />“I think he defends very well. So coming into the game, I had to prepare extra well. ” <br /><br />He went on : “Knowing that I had three good players underneath, I just had to hold up the ball back to them.
