Official : Christopher Danjuma Appointed Interim Manager Of Super Falcons
Published: June 29, 2015
Through official channels, the Nigeria Football Federation has announced the appointment of Christopher Danjuma as Acting Head Coach of the Super Falcons.
Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu, made the disclosure last weekend, stating that the contract of former coach Edwin Okon has not been renewed.
“We commend Okon and his crew for the services rendered to the country, and they did well to reclaim the African Women Championship title for the country in Namibia in October 2014, thus qualifying the team for the Women’s World Cup in Canada.”said Felix Anyansi-Agwu.
The NFF will name a substantive coach for the African champions in the coming days and it is known that Sweden coach Pia Sundhage is not on its shortlist after she rejected an approach from the Federation during the World Cup.
Danjuma will be in the dugout on July 18 when the Falcons take on Equatorial Guinea in an Olympic Games qualifier in Port Harcourt.
