Published: July 01, 2015
Hull City forward Sone Aluko has flown to Canada to offer moral support to his sister, England international Eniola, ahead of the eagerly anticipated meeting against Japan in the semi - final of the Women’s World Cup.
Chelsea’s Eniola Aluko has not featured in the Three Lionesses last three games and would be hoping that manager Mark Sampson considers her against the defending champions.
Hours leading up to the game at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Eniola Aluko, a veteran of three World Cups, acknowledged that she is ready for one of the biggest games in her career.
The England number nine posted on Twitter : “Semi final time!!! Doesn’t get any bigger. Let’s go #ENG.”
Super Eagle Sone Aluko is in Canada for another reason, as a representative of the International Players Union, FIFPRO.
The FIFPro Ambassador will present a project for women’s football in compliance with the agreement reached in 2014 during the General Assembly in Tokyo.
