Ahead of their Pro League opener against Mechelen next weekend, KV Oostende tackled second division team SV Roeselare in a friendly.
Just two days after KV Oostende announced the signing of Joseph Akpala, the Nigeria international stepped out onto the pitch for his first game for The Kustboys.
The second half substitute took only eight minutes to open his account for his new employer, scoring in the 83rd minute.
Before the 28 - year - old’s strike, Fernando Canesin Matos and Elimane Coulibaly had hit the back of the net, with Sven De Rechter and Jesse Mputu replying for the opponents.
