Kelechi Iheanacho was surprisingly missing from Manchester City’s 22 - man squad for their second pre - season game in Australia on Saturday morning with Melbourne City.
Recall that the Flying Eagles star was given game time in The Citizens 2 - 0 win over Adelaide United three days ago.
For today’s game, coach Manuel Pellegrini preferred England U19 international Brandon Barker ahead of the 2013 Fifa Under 17s Golden Ball winner.
Manchester City managed to defeat Melbourne City 1 - 0 thanks to Samir Nasri’s 86th minute winner.
The Premier League vice - champions will take on Roma and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup next week.
