Alex Iwobi Benched, Akpom Makes Cameo Appearance As Arsenal Win BAT

Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute in Saturday afternoon’s 3 - 1 victory over Everton in the final of
the Barclays Asia Trophy.
Chuba Akpom, who bagged a hat -trick against Singapore XI in the Gunners first pre - season friendly, replaced Frenchman Giroud, in the 76th minute.
On 83 minutes, Akpom would have extended Arsenal’s two - goal lead when he capitalized on a defensive error but Everton goalkeeper Joel was off his line to smother the ball.
A minute before the final whistle, the England youth international forced Joel to make a save after driving towards the box from the halfway line.
Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil netted for Arsenal while Anglo - Nigerian midfielder Ross Barkley scored what turned out to be a consolation for Everton 15 minutes from time.
