NWPL: Confluence Queens Walk Over FC Robo in Lagos
Published: August 01, 2015
The match, billed to take place at the Onikan Stadium at 2pm could not come alive as the home side, FC Robo failed to show up due to reasons believed to be financial constraints.
However, after the match officials waited for the required thirty minutes with a belief that the girls of Mr. Osahon Orobosa will show up which they didn’t, performed the walk over rituals and as such awarded the match points to the Wada Queens.
After the walked over process were carried out, Chief Coach of Confluence Queens, Suileman Adamu known as “ ZICO” said the three points is a plus in his side’s ambition to finished among the top clubs in the group just as he noted that the Lokoja based club would not be carried away with the gifted points.
“It’s a plus for us, even though its unfortunate, but things like this do happen in football where you see opponent walked over their host.
“If they failed to meet up with the necessary arrangements to honor their match, they (FC Robo) attended the pre-match meeting but could not show up for the match proper.”
He went on : “Our focus now is our next home match against Adamawa Queens in Lokoja, we hope to consolidate on today’s picked points and I can assure you that we will not be carried away with these points and victory we gained in Lagos.”
Confluence Queens who played double home matches against Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens before today’s game against FC Robo, will return to Lokoja to welcome Adamawa Queens in the week 11 of the NWPL.
