Obafemi Martins Closing In On Seattle Sounders Return
Published: August 05, 2015
The prognosis suggest Nigeria international Obafemi Martins will return to action for Seattle Sounders when they tackle LA Galaxy in the MLS on Sunday.
The attacker has not featured in the last eight games in the league as he is recovering from a groin complaint, and he failed a fitness test hours leading up to the tie against Vancouver Whitecaps this past weekend.
“We’ll see, I think he’s getting closer,” Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid told reporters.
“I think this is the week we’re hoping he can make it back, but we have to go day-by-day.”
Seattle Sounders have lost seven games during the period Martins has been on the sidelines, scoring a paltry two goals in those games.
