Official : Hope Akpan Pens Two - Year Deal With Blackburn Rovers

English Championship club Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of Hope Akpan from Reading on a two - year deal.
The 24 - year - old Anglo - Nigerian player spent his formative years at Everton but did not make a single appearance for the Liverpool based side in the Premier League before his contract expired in 2011.
The defensive midfielder later joined Crawley Town before he was snapped up by Reading in the winter of 2013.
Having been involved in pre - season training with The Royals, he is in tip - top condition but will not make his debut for his new employer tonight when they take on Shrewsbury.
For the Nigeria national team, he made his debut in October 2014.
