Chuba Akpom Named To Championship Team Of The Week After Ending 964 - Minute Goal Drought
Published: August 13, 2015
Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom has been recognized for his outstanding display in the opening round of matches in the English Championship, with highly respected website, whoscored.com, naming him to its Team of the Week.
The Anglo - Nigerian has scored in each of his last two games for Hull City but only his performance last weekend against Huddersfield Town was what counted.
Akpom capped off a fine performance by scoring his first - ever goal as a professional in the 71st minute.
That goal meant so much for him if you consider that he spent 964 minutes cumulatively on the pitch in the Premier League, Championship and League One, before breaking his duck.
The England youth international did not score while on the books of Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.
