Midtjylland Striker Paul Onuachu Hails Coach, Teammates After Drawing Against Southampton In Europa League
Published: August 21, 2015
FC Midtjylland striker Paul Onuachu reckons that the Danish champions were able to pick up a draw against one of the rising forces in the English Premier League, Southampton, because their opponents allowed them to play their normal game.
The Nigeria Under 23 international made a cameo appearance for The Wolves at St Mary’s, coming off the bench in the 89th minute, and he has predicted that the return leg at the MCH Arena will be a fascinating contest.
“It was not easy to get a draw from them but we had a plan from the coach and the plan really worked out, ” Onuachu told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I think we came out and played our normal game even though we played against a Premier League side, it was a great job from the team.
“We got a draw so I think the second leg is going to be interesting, don’t forget anything can happen in football.”
On Thursday night, ex Southampton midfielder Tim Sparv scored for FC Midtjylland in the 45th minute before Jay Rodriguez equalized for the home team 11 minutes out of intermission.
