Kabba, Igalamela seal Semi-Final Spots

Kabba/Bunu Local government advanced to the semi-final of the 2015 Kogi
Governor’s Cup after they defeated their Lokoja counterparts 4-3 on
penalties in a quarter- final tie at the weekend.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the regulation time before the winner was decided in penalty shootout lottery at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
Earlier, Igalamela/Odolu local government were whitewashed by Omala 6-0 in another quarterfinal match to progress into the next stages.
Next up, Dekina local government will face Okehi on Saturday, September 5 while Adavi will lock horns with Kogi on Sunday, September 6 both quarter-final ties.
The 2015 Kogi Governor’s Cup is organized by the Kogi State Football Association and is been held for the first time since 2010 and second in 19 years.
It is the second grassroots football competition staged by the Mallam Umarr Isah’s led state football body after the maiden Kogi Primary Schools U-13 Football Championship held in April.
