Golden Eaglets Share Spoils With Korea In Suwon Tournament
Published: September 02, 2015
Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, reckons that his side started the Suwon Continental Cup International Youth (U-17) Football Tournament on a good footing despite sharing the spoils with hosts South Korea in their opening fixture.
Funsho Bamgboye restored parity for the world champions in the 26th minute after the Koreans got off to a dream start, taking the lead in the third minute thanks to Barcelona starlet Lee Sangheon.
“I think it was a fair result though we would have loved to win,” said Eaglets Coach Emmanuel Amuneke in a press release published by thenff.com.
“It was a good game for us; we created more chances in the second half though we failed to take them.”
In their next fixture, the Nigeria Under 17s will tackle Brazil, who lead the way after beating Croatia 2 - 1.
