Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh Happy With Evolution Of His Team
Published: September 09, 2015
Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh reckons that Nigeria’s 2 - 0 win over Niger Republic in a friendly on Tuesday will raise the level of confidence of his team ahead of their next international fixtures.
Goals from CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa and his second - half replacement Moses Simon handed Oliseh his first win as coach of the national team after playing out an insipid goalless draw with Tanzania last weekend.
““To win a game is good for the confidence,” Oliseh stated in his post - match comments.
“It was important to win and even more important that we won as an organised team.
“We are getting more organised, we know what to do now when we lose the ball, but we need to hold the ball much longer and dictate the pace of game.”
Nigeria’s next game is against Burkina Faso in the African Nations Championship qualifiers before they face off against Djibouti / Swaziland the following month in the World Cup qualifier.
