Nigeria needed a late equaliser to avert a defeat in the football event of the All-Africa Games on Saturday.
Mustapha Abdullahi’s injury time goal earned the Dream Team VI a 1-1 draw against Senegal in Brazzaville.
The Samson Siasia tutored side were undone in the 83rd minute when saw Ibrahima Keita his effort go beyond the reach of goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.
After the opener the Nigerian side had to wait until added on time when substitute Mustapha grabbed the equaliser in the 94th minute to save their blushes.
Nigeria finished as Group B winners with 4 points, followed by Senegal on 2 points.
Defending champions Ghana crashed out of competition having amassed a total of one point.
