Only Two Outfield Players To Make Dream Team Bench Vs Congo
Published: September 16, 2015
The Dream Team will have to contest Thursday’s bronze medal match against Congo without three of their key players, according to the team’s Media Officer, Timi Ebikagboro.
Skipper Azubuike Okechukwu has been ruled out of the tie and joining him on the treatment table are Osmanlispor FK striker Umar Aminu and Abia Warriors defender Ndifreke Effiong.
The three players have started the three matches contested by the Dream Team at the All - Africa Games.
With the European teams of Abdullahi Shehu (União da Madeira) and Savior Godwin (K.V. Oostende) not releasing the duo for the competition, it means Samson Siasia will have only two outfield players on the substitutes bench versus Congo.
Nigeria won bronze medals at the All - Africa Games in the 1991 and 1995 editions.
