Dream Team Woes Continue Injury - Wise, As Etebo Oghenekaro Ruled Out Of Clash Against Congo
Published: September 17, 2015
Etebo Oghenekaro has joined the Dream Team VI’s injury list ahead of their bronze medal match today against Congo at the All - Africa Games, with the Warri Wolves striker picking up a groin injury in the semi - final versus Burkina Faso.
With Azubuike Okechukwu , Umar Aminu and Ndifreke Effiong already ruled out of the clash due to injuries, logically, Samson Siasia will have only one outfield player on the substitutes bench.
The Nigeria Under 23s arrived the tournament with only 18 players - 3 goalkeepers and 15 outfield players - two short of the required number after Abdullahi Shehu (União da Madeira) and Savior Godwin (K.V. Oostende) were not released by their respective clubs.
To make matters worse, Samson Siasia will have to start the game against Congo with a makeshift left back as a result of the injury sustained by Abia Warriors defender Ndifreke Effiong.
