Odion Ighalo Heaps Praise On Strike Partner Troy Deeney
Published: September 20, 2015Odion Ighalo has heaped praise on his strike partner Troy Deeney for contributing to his brace against Newcastle United in the latest round of matches played in the Premier League.
Of the four goals the Nigeria international has bagged in the top flight so far, three of them were set up by the Watford skipper.
“Troy’s assisted me for three of the four goals I’ve scored this season,” Ighalo pointed out to Hornets PlayerHD.
“But we didn’t only click now, since last season we played together up-front in the Championship and we were playing well and working hard together then.”
Adds the Super Eagles forward :“I’m so happy that we’re still working hard together, he’s a great striker and I know he’s going to score goals in this league because he’s an amazing guy and an amazing striker.
“He works hard for the team and he gives all his best any time he’s on the pitch. I’m really pleased, and I’m always happy to play with him.”
In 2015 alone, the former Lyn Oslo, Granada and Udinese man has netted 20 times in the leagues, more than any other player in the top four divisions in the English football pyramid.
