Amkar Perm striker Chuma Anene reckons that his side deserved picking up a point against Premier League champions Zenit St Petersburg on Sunday when both teams faced off at Stadion Petrovskij on Sunday.
On his league debut, the ex Norway youth international opened his account after 66 minutes and he has stated that he feels settled at the club less than three weeks after arriving in Russia from Rabotniki.
“I won’t say we we’re lucky. It’s more about whether you take the chances or not, ” Anene said to allnigeriasoccer.com on Sunday night.
“We defended ourselves well, and good things come to those who work hard. I thank God that we managed to come out with a point in the end. ”
The Amkar Perm number 11 added : “The minute I came to this club the teammates have been nothing but good to me and making me feel welcome, that made me feel more and more comfortable during the game, as well as our supporters.”
Both Chuma Anene and Nigeria international Fegor Ogude are represented by the same agent.
