Published: September 21, 2015
Reuben Gabriel is confident that Boavista can qualify for either the Champions League or the Europa League next season by finishing in the top five positions in the Primeira Liga or winning the Cup at the end of this season.
On the road to achieving that objective, the Nigeria international is one of the favourite players of influential retired Portugal international now coach of Boavista, Petit, and has started every single game in the league this term.
“My target is to play as many games as possible so that I can hopefully help Boavista qualify for Europe this season by God’s grace, I believe it is very possible, ” Reuben Gabriel told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“My coach (Petit) is a great man. There is so much I like about him, I have learnt a lot from him. Tactically, he has improved my game by far and has helped me become a much better and consistent player.”
The former Kano Pillars and Waasland-Beveren man has set his sights on earning a recall to the national team and believes his performances for the Portuguese club will do the talking for him.
“I am in great shape at the moment and I have been playing every week. As a player you always want to play for your country but all I can do is to continue giving my best and hopefully by God’s grace the coach will notice me one day,” added Gabriel.
