The palatial home where the late soccer legend, Rashidi Yekini was living before his untimely death on 4th May 2012 is now in a state of desolate and has been now taken over by weeds which has caused serious apprehension for residents of Oni and Sons area of ring-road Ibadan where the house situated.<br /><br />The residents in a letter written to the Oluyole Divisional Police Station covering the area described the expansive mansion of the late goal king as a security threat while expressing fear of the place becoming a hideout for hoodlums.<br /><br />&nbsp;&ldquo;We are worried over the over the desertion of this big house since we lost Baba (the way late Yekini is being called by his neighbor) more than three years ago now.<br /><br />&ldquo;This house might soon become a hideout for marauders which is a big threat to our safety&rdquo;, a neighbor to late Yekini who does not want his name in print told the sporting press in Ibadan.<br /><br />Counsel to the late Goal-king, Barrister Jubril Mohammed who is perceived to be in-charge of all Yekini left behind when contacted said effort is on to obtain every all documents that would enable him to take appropriate action on the estate.<br /><br />&ldquo;And very soon the place would be put to good use but pending that time he had contracted people that would clear all the weeds that have taken over the Yekini&rsquo;s Ring-Road house, so that it doesn&rsquo;t become a hideout and security threat to the residents of the area.&rdquo;<br /><br />The legal practitioner added that deceased left behind two daughters who would be the direct beneficiaries of wealth and properties his client left behind, not until all necessary papers is obtained before the will of the deceased can be carried out.
