Crossfire: Oyo FA Slams Ten - Year Ban On IFA BossOyo State Football Association over the weekend wielded its big stick on the chairman of Ibadan Football Association and his members after being found guilty by the panel of investigation constituted to investigate corruption allegation leveled against them by slamming a ten - year ban on Alhaji Banji Akintayo, the IFA boss.

Other IFA members that also got five years ban each are Alhaji Adenira Adeyemo, Coach Moshood Adigun, Mr. Folorunsho Oyelakin, Alhaji Abidoye Olotu, former 3SC team manager Alhaji Yinusa Alani Salami and Mr. Kayode Adebajo.

The IFA boss has however, vowed to fight on by seeking redress in the court of law while reacting on the development, maintaining that money that he generated from the development of the stadium are what attracted the FA to the administration of IFA and not for the interest of the game as they claimed.

IFA boss and his members according to the Oyo FA Chairman Chief James Odeniran are banned from football administration and football related activities which included attending any football matches organized by Oyo FA, NFF, NPFL, WAFU, CAF and FIFA for the period of ten and five years respectfully.

It would be recalled that the chairman of IFA and its members are being investigated of allegations bothered on corruptions and non-football related activities following a petition written by concerned football stakeholders in the state.

The IFA leadership was found wanting of five count charge according to a report submitted by Barr. Wale Adegoke led panel which was read to newsmen at a press briefing organized by Oyo FA in Ibadan over the weekend.

“The Chairman of IFA Alhaji Banji Akntayo abused his office by awarding a contract to a company, Akintayo Brothers Nig. Ltd where he is the managing director contrary to Oaths of office not to use his office for selfish or personal gains.

“That the other members were fully aware of this abuse of office by the chairman and consented to the same”, the reports reads.

Alhaji Akintayo in his reaction said the developers that are handling constructions of lock-up shops around the stadium are to pay the sum of =N= 20 million being part of the deal to IFA this month, and that was what responsible for the witch-hunting that was being experienced from the FA, adding that that have never asked how they’ve been managing the affairs of the place for the past 13 years.
