It would be recalled that the chairman of IFA and its members are being investigated of allegations bothered on corruptions and non-football related activities following a petition written by concerned football stakeholders in the state.
The IFA leadership was found wanting of five count charge according to a report submitted by Barr. Wale Adegoke led panel which was read to newsmen at a press briefing organized by Oyo FA in Ibadan over the weekend.
“The Chairman of IFA Alhaji Banji Akntayo abused his office by awarding a contract to a company, Akintayo Brothers Nig. Ltd where he is the managing director contrary to Oaths of office not to use his office for selfish or personal gains.
“That the other members were fully aware of this abuse of office by the chairman and consented to the same”, the reports reads.
Alhaji Akintayo in his reaction said the developers that are handling constructions of lock-up shops around the stadium are to pay the sum of =N= 20 million being part of the deal to IFA this month, and that was what responsible for the witch-hunting that was being experienced from the FA, adding that that have never asked how they’ve been managing the affairs of the place for the past 13 years.
