Chuba Akpom Targets England U21s Debut
Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom is aiming to make his debut for the England Under 21 national team in their UEFA European U21 Championship Group 9 Qualifier against Kazakhstan at Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Tuesday evening.

The Anglo - Nigerian would have debuted for the England U21s last month but had to withdraw from the squad after being called - up due to an injury.

“It was great to get selected, so I was gutted to be injured for the games but I knew that another time would come so I had to be patient, ” Akpom tod TheFA.com.

“But it’s a big step for me. After this, it’s only the senior squad to go and these are the two big steps to make from the younger age groups.

“There are a lot of strong players in this squad, it’s a good team and everyone is playing for their club as well. It’s also quite a young team as well, which is good to see.”

Chuba Akpom has starred for England at U16, U17, U19 and U20 level.
