Chuba Akpom Targets England U21s Debut

Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom is aiming to make his debut for the England Under 21 national team in their UEFA European U21 Championship Group 9 Qualifier against Kazakhstan at Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Tuesday evening.<br /><br />The Anglo - Nigerian would have debuted for the England U21s last month but had to withdraw from the squad after being called - up due to an injury.<br /><br />&ldquo;It was great to get selected, so I was gutted to be injured for the games but I knew that another time would come so I had to be patient, &rdquo; Akpom tod TheFA.com.<br /><br />&ldquo;But it&rsquo;s a big step for me. After this, it&rsquo;s only the senior squad to go and these are the two big steps to make from the younger age groups.<br /><br />&ldquo;There are a lot of strong players in this squad, it&rsquo;s a good team and everyone is playing for their club as well.
