Arsene Wenger Says Odion Ighalo Has Special Qualities & Must Be Man - Marked
Published: October 16, 2015
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stressed that his team will pay special attention to Odion Ighalo in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Watford.
The Nigeria international is in the form of his life for club and country, scoring 5 goals in 8 games in the top flight, and was on target against Cameroon in a high - profile friendly in Belgium last weekend.
Wenger admitted that the ex Granada and Udinese man was an unknown quantity until his goals for the Hornets put him in the spotlight.
“He has been a huge surprise as who knew him? ” said Wenger to arsenal.com.
“Not many people knew him before the Premier League started and to score five goals in eight games you need to have special qualities, no matter who you play for. ”
Ighalo has registered his name on the scoresheet 4 times in his last 4 games in the Premier League and was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September, an accolade that was eventually won by Anthony Martial.
