Manchester City Coach Backing Kelechi Iheanacho To Deliver The Goals
Published: October 16, 2015
With Argentina star Sergio Aguero ruled out of action for at least one month, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has backed Kelechi Iheanacho to deliver the goals for The Citizens.
Iheanacho impressed last season for City’s Elite Development Squad, scoring 6 goals in 7 matches and his reward was a promotion to the first team before the start of this campaign.
“I always trust Wilfried – he’s a very good player,” Pellegrini said at Friday’s press conference.
“It’s not just Wilfried, we also have Kelechi – the team is the most important thing, how we are moving forward.”
The Nigeria U20 international opened his goalscoring account in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on September 12, but fired blanks in his next two games after he featured off the bench.
