Suleiman Abdullahi On Target As Viking All But Kiss Goodbye To Europa League
Published: October 18, 2015
Viking’s hopes of qualifying for the next season’s Europa League were dealt a huge blow on Sunday night after they lost 3 - 1 to Tromso on game week 27.
Nigeria Under 20 international Suleiman Abdullahi lined up alongside compatriot Samuel Adegbenro in attack, and it was the former that gave the visitors an unlikely lead in the 15th minute.
Just before the intermission, Espejord scored the equalizer before ødegaard netted the match winner in the 71st minute.
While Abdullahi went the distance at the Alfheim Stadion (Tromsø) , Adegbenro was subbed out of the match in the 80th minute.
With three rounds left, Viking are five points behind Marco Tagbajumi’s Strømsgodset, who occupy the last Europa League spot.
