Giwa Hails Owerri Performance

The management of Giwa FC of Jos have hailed the performance of the team in their match-day 36 defeat at the hands of their hosts, Heartland FC of Owerri at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday evening.
In a statement released by the Club through its Media Officer, David King, immediately after the game, the Club praised the overwhelming determination of the boys who they believed battled to the the last blast of the whistle only to be denied a point by ill luck.
“We had a wonderful game today and would have fair and square but luck was not our friend today”.
“We are returning home to prepare for our next two games and we are optimistic we can still grab a place in either the Champions league or the CAF Confederations Cup”.
Forward, Ocheme Edoh’s brace put Giwa FC 2-1 in front with 20 minutes left to play at the Dan Anyam Stadium but Heartland launched a battling come back and grabbed the equaliser before Brendan Ogbu scored beautiful winner to bury the game at 3-2.
The Plateau Elephants are expected to return to Jos today and commence preparations ahead of their next game.
