Jose Mourinho Will Not Be Fired - Michael Emenalo
Published: November 20, 2015
Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo has played down suggestions that the English champions are set to sack manager Jose Mourinho following a poor run of results.
The former Nigeria international has reiterated that club owner Roman Abramovich has given his backing to the Portuguese coach.
“Right now, the statement from the owner and from the board comes from a belief that we are in a position to trust a manager who has delivered so much,”Emenalo told The Telegraph.
“We are in a position to trust a group of players who have delivered in the last couple of seasons.
“We are in a position to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and therein lies our confidence ... that we can get out of the situation.”
