Toronto FC Starlet Ayomide Akinola Called Up To USA Squad

Interim United States U-17 coach John Hackworth, has named a roster for the 2015 Nike International Friendlies in Florida.
A player with Nigerian roots, Ayomide Akinola, and the Toronto FC striker will compete with George Weah’s son, Timothy Weah of Paris Saint-Germain F.C for a spot in attack.
Akinola was born in Brampton, Ontario, meaning he can represent the youth teams of Canada, USA as well as Nigeria, but has pledged his future at that level to the United States, having represented their Under 14 and Under 15 teams.
The highly rated starlet netted four times as the U.S. Under-15s hammered Croatia 6 - 2 at the Tournament Delle Nazioni in April.
The USA Under 17s will tackle England, Netherlands and Brazil during the tournament which begins on Wednesday, December 2.
