Alex Iwobi Makes Home Debut For Arsenal; Mikel Starts Against Manchester United
Published: December 28, 2015
Alex Iwobi made his home debut for Arsenal in their 2 - 0 victory over AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night.
Manager Arsene Wenger gave the forward a run out in the last minute of the game, replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain with the Nigeria international.
Before today’s contest at the Emirates, Iwobi’s four previous appearances for the Gunners were in away matches against Sheffield Wednesday (League Cup), Swansea City, Southampton (both Premier League) and Bayern Munich (Champions League).
At Old Trafford, John Obi Mikel was handed a rare start as Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Manchester United. The Super Eagles star worked a 90 - minute shift in midfield.
Victor Moses will resume full training with West Ham in the first week of January and was therefore missing from the Hammers squad that beat Southampton 2 - 1 at Boleyn Ground.
