KuPS CEO Insists Azubuike Egwuekwe Has Valid Contract Despite Denial By Defender
Published: January 04, 2016
KuPS CEO Jarmo Heiskanen has rubbished statements credited to Azubuike Egwuekwe in which the Nigeria international denied that he signed a contract with the Veikkausliiga club.
The club supremo has revealed that the Warri Wolves defender will depart Nigeria to begin a new adventure in Finland once he is issued a visa which might take several weeks.
“I heard the rumor , but it is not true. I talked to his agent and he said that the thing is in order. The contract has been signed and the names on the paper, ” Jarmo Heiskanen told iltasanomat.fi.
“We had our own representative presence in Nigeria , too , when the contract was signed . We have a picture when Egwuekwe signed the contract.
“Football is a very exciting world . All what is written there is not always true.”
KuPS reported via their official webpage last week that the Warri Wolves stopper will join the club on a 1 + 1 year deal if he passes a medical examination.
