Exclusive : Free Agent Alhaji Gero Heading Back To Sweden After Terminating Viborg Deal

Through a press release, Danish Superliga side Viborg have announced that they have ended their collaboration with former Nigeria Under 20 international Alhaji Gero.
The attacker, who defended the colours of Osters IF prior to his move to the Energi Viborg Arena, has all but confirmed that he will be joining an unnamed team in Sweden in the winter transfer market.
“We agreed at 11am this morning that I should terminate my contract, we agreed because it is best for me and it is good for the team, ” said Alhaji Gero to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I want more playing opportunities and that’s why I’m leaving Viborg. I am heading back to Sweden, then we’ll take it from there.”
The 22 - year - old’s contract with Viborg would have expired in December 31, 2017 if club and player had honoured the agreement.
In 25 appearances for Viborg, Alhaji Gero managed to find the back of the net three times.
