Alex Iwobi Trains With Arsenal First Team But Unlikely To Make Squad
Published: January 17, 2016
Alex Iwobi was drafted into Arsenal’s first team ahead of the meeting with Stoke City on Sunday at the Britannia Stadium which begins at 1715 hours.
The Nigeria national - teamer and five other youngsters in the shape of Matt Macey, Tafari Moore, Glen Kamara, Julio Pleguezuelo and Dan Crowley were involved in the Gunners final training session on Saturday morning at London Colney.
With the recent acquisition of Mohamed Elneny and the return to full training by Alexis Sanchez and Mikel Arteta, Iwobi is unlikely to be selected in manager Arsene Wenger’s 18 - man squad.
If that is the case, it would be the first time the Super Eagle has failed to make the 18 - man squad since November 24, 2015.
He has been included in Arsenal’s 18 - man squad for nine games on the spin across all competitions.
