Mikel Impressed With Arsenal Rising Star Alex Iwobi
Published: January 24, 2016
Alex Iwobi has been tipped to succeed at Arsenal by skipper of the side Mikel Arteta who has been impressed with the teenager’s versatility in the games he has played this season.
The Super Eagle has been involved in 7 first - team matches so far this season, including the Gunners last Premier League clash against Stoke City that he lasted 20 minutes on the Britannia Stadium turf.
“You can see the change in his confidence after being given some minutes in the first team,” Arteta said, according to arsenal.com.
“The Stoke game was a good example of that. He came on and had an impact straight away. His decision-making was excellent and the game didn’t run quicker than him.
“To do that against a tough team in a difficult atmosphere tells you he is improving and moving forwards.”
Alex Iwobi was one of the four youngsters that trained with the first - team ahead of Sunday evening’s game against Chelsea at the Emirates.
