Samuel Chukwueze Presented With Fifa Under-17 World Cup Bronze Boot
Published: January 25, 2016Nigeria U17 international Samuel Chukwueze has been presented with the Bronze Boot he won at the 2015 Fifa Under - 17 World Cup.
Football’s world –governing body, FIFA, admitted after the competition that it erroneously awarded the Bronze Boot to Golden Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali, who tallied the same number of goals and assists as Chukwueze.
In reversing its decision, Fifa took note of the fact that the 16-year-old had less playing time during the tournament and sent another boot to the Diamond Academy starlet while Nwakali was told to keep his.
NFF Executive Committee member, Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau and General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi presented Chukwueze with his prize, congratulating him for a great outing in Chile.
The two youngsters are being linked with a switch to Arsenal after displaying their wares in Chile.
