Death Rocks Oyo Football Family, FA Mourns Referee

The leadership of Oyo State Football Association has expressed shock over the sudden death of the chairman of Oyo State Referee Society Mr. Wale Akinsanya and the marketing officer of Shooting Stars, Mr. Ademola Abodunrin, who passed away on Friday 22nd January.
The Oyo FA boss, Chief James Odeniran in the statement issued and made available to newsmen described the death of the duo as big loss to the football fraternity in Oyo State, saying both are so dear to the Oyo State Football Association.
“Wale Akinsanya went through a complete medical examination three weeks before his death when he participated in the referee copper test in Abuja and completed race within the stipulated time.
“He has been a dedicated football referee awaiting a FIFA badge. His death is a big blow to both Nigerian Referee Association and Oyo FA, we pray God to give his family fortitude to bear the loss.
The Oyo FA boss also condoled with the management of Oluyole Warrior, and the family of Abodunrin who had greatly helped the job of FA especially during just concluded football season where Lekan Salami Stadium, the venue of 3SC’s home match recorded large turnout of spectators.
The remains of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary pending the burial arrangements according to the family source.
