Chuba Akpom Says Hat-trick Vs Bury Is Highlight Of His Career
Published: February 02, 2016
The England youth-teamer had lost his spot in the Tigers starting lineup since December but retained his shirt for the visit to Gigg Lance and repaid the manager’s faith by netting his first professional hat-trick.
“It was my first professional hat-trick and the best feeling I’ve experienced in my short football career so far,”Akpom told Hull City’ official website.
“That is the kind of feeling I want to have all of the time, scoring as many goals as I can, but it was just nice to be back in the squad to help the lads through to the next round.
“It’s been a rough patch for me and I’ve just tried to keep my head down and work hard in training.”
With Hull City drawn against Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Akpom is ineligible for the clash against the Londoners as there is a clause in his contract that prevents him from playing against them.
